Flyers for Absentee Voters

Our campaign is getting underway swiftly and we are gathering strength from many groups. Absentee ballots will begin arriving September 22, 2012 and our target is to get the slate in front of as many voters as possible as they receive their ballot.

The VIP Slate addresses many of the Very Important Proposals coming up on the November 6, 2012 ballot. It doesn't address every proposal on the ballot - there are some that our assembled groups have differences in how they will support them. These are the VIP issues:

#YESNOProposal
Michigan's State-wide Proposals
12-1NOPublic Act 4 - Emergency Manager (Dictator) Law - state imposed rule
12-2YESProtect Our Jobs - collective bargaining remains a right of the people
12-4YESQuality Home Care Council - collective bargaining for in home care workers
12-5NOEnactment of New Taxes by State Government
City of Detroit Proposals

If your group is interested in working with the VIP Slate, please give us a call at 313-444-0061, or email VoteVIPslate@gmail.com. We have a Facebook page as well.

Belle Isle City-Wide Rally

The rally will be fully operational at noon with presentations in the area near the Casino / Shed 2. Park near the Casino, and if we are at the Shed walk across the bridge to the gathering. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to arrive EARLY to this CITY-WIDE rally as it will be a monumental event. There will be organizing staff on site early to greet you, watch for the March Marshals for directions.

A rough timeline of activities will be presentations and rally through noon to 12:45 when we will DEPART for a MARCH across the McAurther Bridge to Gabriel Richard Park. Once all have reached the city-side of the bridge a few words will be spoken, then a MARCH BACK TO BELLE ISLE will be held and a final address of the issues we are facing will be made at the origin location, which is anticipated to be from 3pm until 4pm.

Be certain to dress warm and be ready for showers with temperatures around 60 degrees and wind of about 20-25 mph off the water.
